Conceived as a respite from the client’s busy work schedule, this project largely reconfigures the existing house plan while utilizing a simple addition that extends the house’s side walls and roof line.  With a quiet, lightly modified front façade, the back utilizes a shaded patio, ample glazing and an accessory building to surround an intimate pool oasis.

Interior common spaces with a tall, wood clad ceiling are provided with ample indirect daylight and visual connection from front of house to the back.  A sunken living room gives a mid-century referral and accentuates a full height, stone fireplace surround.
