our Practice

Founded in 2020, by an accomplished husband and wife duo, Page Paul Architecture & Interiors is a full service studio focused on quality, high end custom design projects which look to enhance the experience around and within them. Our studio’s interests lie in discovering creative solutions which result from a process that balances many variables including aesthetics, function, budget, site and client desires.

Beginning with careers in Chicago over two decodes ago and practicing in Austin for 16+ years, the office’s founders have accrued design and management experience from numerous residential and interior design projects, along with various sized commercial endeavors ranging from small boutique retail, to concept restaurants, to the world’s tallest tower.

The office’s collective experience allows it to holistically conceive and design a variety of project types across a variety of styles, always uniquely suited to their circumstances. Our capabilities and rigor leave no stone unturned in the process of design. Whether we’re analyzing a site to determine how a building’s form relates to its context and sustainable strategies, or we’re programming interior spaces which harmonize with the building and create mood by utilizing aspects such as color, texture and lighting; we strive for a result that is nuanced and tailored to the end user.

our Process

All projects begin by listening and that continues through our process as we get to know, assess and curate our clients’ interests & goals. We strive to create a client experience which is informative and collaborative.  Throughout our design phases we provide presentations which document and describe an evolving creation.

We recognize that every project is better with the sum of its team contributions. We love a good collaboration and have worked with numerous local contractors, consultants, craftspeople and leading artists, to endings with beautiful results.

Our designs begin with core ideas or goals, which are studied, edited and elaborated upon on throughout the whole process as they define the spirit of place. Whether it is a building or a site, we start projects by assessing conditions, their potentials, and their restrictions.  That information schematically shapes design which takes a more zoomed out view to consider aspects like program, spatial relationships and proportion.  Our schematic solutions lead into development of the design, where specific selections and details are formed to further enrich the fundamental goals. We follow and finalize design in technical documentation and coordination which is utilized for pricing, permitting and construction.

We take pride in our process and the value it brings to our trusting clients and the realization of their projects.

our People

Joanna Page Hartman, AIA, ASID, NCIDQ

Principal

Starting her career in Chicago working for an international design firm instilled a strong sense of discipline required to realize large, complex projects across time zones as well as the rigor to outlast these marathon-like endeavors. Following that experience with a boutique design firm perfected the skill of careful listening and refined the art of personalization. Prior to launching PPA, working in a design/build environment forged relationships with suppliers, vendors, and skilled tradespeople with the ability to make a design sing.

Dozens of local, state, national and international award-winning projects later, Joanna is equally versed in commercial, residential and interior design project types – both new and remodeled. Hard working and driven to excel, she fulfilled both of her childhood professional goals (architectural and interior design licenses) all while honing her aesthetic sensibilities as well as her intuition for how to be the best architect for her clients. Through clear communication, she balances how to bring out their style, what best suits their needs and just how far to push them beyond their comfort zone to realize projects that exceed expecations.

A lifelong learner and inspired by color and texture, outside of the office, it's all about soaking up experiences and inspiration hiking national parks with family, thriving on the energy and museums of big cities, relaxing on beaches, and baking with her daughter.

Fabiana Granados

Project Designer

In a vibrant blend of cultures and architectural experiences, Fabiana, originally from Venezuela, recently made Austin her home after spending time in Thailand.
