This charming 1920’s shotgun style house was given an exterior and interior renovation to maximize it’s small footprint for a family of five. The kitchen was relocated to the house front, given a view to a front garden and the quiet neighborhood street. Positioned at a corner, the kitchen acts as the visual and social focal point as it connects the dining room and living room which has added a vaulted ceiling.
The dining room also functions as the front entry. It utilizes a dazzling but durable tile floor and a custom built-in millwork framing an upholstered bench. The bench nook offers a comfortable spot for dining, home officing or reading a good book.
Two skylights are strategically positioned on the north roof slope and they not only provide an increased sense of space, but also an ambience reflecting the natural world outside. A back addition helped to create more space in what is a fully reconfigured and utilized house for five.
