Located on an amazing twelve acre lot, this residence was designed within existing oak trees to run along the crest of the site’s low hill form. The orientation allows for the house to work with existing topography, create views to the primary vista and utilize almost ideal solar orientation. Aesthetically & functionally, the project’s goal was to create a residence which felt at home in its country landscape, but also acknowledges the owner’s desire for modern living and amenities.

The exterior incorporates a simple palette of locally sourced split faced charcoal limestone with expressed heavy mortar, smooth troweled stucco, cedar shiplap, standing seam metal roofing & painted wood. A large screen porch borders the front entry and provides views to sunsets while enjoying the fireplace. Taking advantage of the primary views, exterior amenities such an outdoor kitchen/dining, a turf yard, a trellised lounge and a pool run along the house.

The residence’s interiors where designed to allow for adequate separation of living, sleeping and guest/office spaces. A central corridor connects most all spaces of the home with the connection of the vaulted living spaces, garage, stair and master suite being a focus.
